Organic waste, such as food scraps, coffee grounds, and vegetable peels, must be collected separately from other waste. Biodegradable trash bags are the best choice for this, as they break down together with the waste and leave no plastic in the compost.

Biodegradable vs. Compostable: What’s the Difference?

Biodegradable means the material is broken down by microorganisms. A compostable bag breaks down together with organic waste under composting conditions, which makes it ideal for collecting organic waste. Our biodegradable trash bags are compostable and marked with green printing.

What Size Bag Should You Choose?

Tips for Collecting Organic Waste

  • empty the organic waste bin often, every 2–3 days, and more frequently in warm weather;
  • keep the bag in a lidded bin in a cool place;
  • don’t put very wet waste in the bag; drain it first;
  • don’t store the bags in direct sunlight or damp conditions before use, as they are designed to break down.
